7/3/2016 - Fatal Hit and Run

Type of Crime: Fatal Hit and Run

On Sunday, July 3, 2016, at 4:26 AM, the Sheboygan County Sheriff`s Department dispatch center received a 911 call reporting a vehicle had struck a pedestrian on County Road P just north of County A in the Town of Rhine.  Preliminary investigation indicated that a van was southbound on County Road P when it struck a pedestrian lying in the roadway.  The van operator remained at the scene and called law enforcement.

After a further investigation it was determined that the victim was already deceased when he was struck by the van.  An autopsy revealed that the victim was previously struck and killed by a different unidentified driver and vehicle.  That driver and vehicle left the scene after striking the victim.

The Sheriff`s Department is still investigated the accident and is looking for any witnesses or information that may help identify the suspect driver and vehicle.

On Tuesday, June 28, 2016, the Sheboygan County Sheriff`s Department investigated an overnight burglary and theft of five electric fireplaces and one ceiling fan from a condo unit under construction in the 2600 block of Enterprise Dr, Town of Sheboygan.  The electronic fireplaces have the brand name of SimpliFire, model SFB130E and the ceiling fan has the brand name of Camden, model 335-6777.

On Tuesday, June 21, 2016, the Sheboygan Police Department investigated an arson fire that occurred sometime between Saturday, June 18th and Monday, June 20th at Meyers Lakeview Pub, 550 Wilson Ave, Sheboygan.  Someone attempted to start the building siding on fire but the fire did not fully combust and only scorched the siding.

Type of Crime: Burglary and Damage to Property

On Tuesday, June 7, 2016, the Sheboygan County Sheriff`s Department investigated an overnight burglary to Horn`s RV, 8120 Frontage Rd, Town of Wilson.  The business was forcibly entered through the customer entrance after a glass window pane on the door was shattered. A door of another room inside the building was also forcibly entered causing damage to that door.  The suspect stole and undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the building.

On Thursday, May 19, 2016, the Sheboygan County Sheriff`s Department investigated a robbery that occurred at 5:40 AM at the Mobile Quick Mart, 4912 Vanguard Rd., Town of Sheboygan.  The male suspect demanded money from the store cashier and was given an undisclosed amount of cash and he was last seen fleeing on foot across State Highway 42 in a southwesterly direction.  The suspect was described as being 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall and wearing a hooded sweatshirt to conceal his identity.

On Saturday, May 14, a theft of a purse and other items from a vehicle parked outside in the 900 block of Center Ave. was reported.  The stolen property was described as:
  1. Black purse
  2. Passport
  3. Assorted cosmetic items
  4. $10 in cash and about $20 in change
  5. Prescription medication
  6. One vehicle headlight eyelash decoration
  7. Disabled parking permit

5/12/2016 - Burglary of a Garage

Type of Crime: Theft of Firearms, Fishing Tackle Boxes, from Vehicles a Garages

On Thursday, May 12, a theft of firearms from a vehicle parked in the driveway and fishing tackle boxes and a torch from a detached garage in the 600 block of N. 10th St was reported.  The stolen property was described as:

  1. A Taurus, Millennium G2 PT 111, 9 mm pistol. This pistol is all black with a 3 dot sight.  The gun had two 12 round magazines loaded with Hornady Z-Max ammo.
  2. Remington, Model 1187 Super Mag, 12 gauge shotgun, serial #SM099921.  This gun had a turkey choke, a fiber optic front bead sight, and a 3.5" receiver.
  3. Mossberg, Model 715T, .22, semi-auto rifle, serial #ELE338992.  This gun resembles an AR15 assault riffle.  It is all black with a collapsible stock.  The gun had one 25 round magazine with it and was inside a nylon ACU camouflage Cabelas soft case and inside the case were four AR15 magazines for a 5.56 rifle.
  4. Two tackle boxes and a Mag Torch and gas cylinder.

Type of Crime: Graffiti Vandalism
On Wednesday, April 20, 2016, the Sheboygan County Sheriff`s Department investigated two cases of graffiti vandalism in the Village of Oostburg that occurred sometime between Thursday, April 14 and Friday, April 15.  Graffiti was spray painted on the sides of the buildings at the Mini-Storage Warehousing located at 947 and 999 Wisconsin Ave., and at Vinyl Graphics located at 215 N 10th St.  The graffiti was spray painted with red and black spray paint and consisted of a smiley face symbol, the combination of letters and numbers, "TL", "TZ7", "C" and the word "Cook".

Type of Crime: Arson to Vehicle

On Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at approximately 7:00 AM, the Sheboygan County Sheriff`s Department responded to a car fire at the Greenbush Recreational Area Group Campground Parking Lot, N5854 Kettle Moraine Dr, Town of Greenbush.  The fire was intentionally set.  The Sheboygan County Sheriff`s Department is looking for anyone who may have been at the group campground parking lot during the overnight hours on April 18th into April 19th and would have seen or not seen a white Lexus parked in the parking lot.

On Wednesday, April 6; Sunday, April 10; and Monday, April 22, 2016, the Sheboygan County Sheriff`s Department investigated three separate acts of vandalism to the Cedar Grove Cemetery, 240 S. 2nd Street, Cedar Grove.  The perpetrators in the first two cases caused extensive damage to a split rail fence and in the third case they damaged or tipped over approximately 39 grave stones.  Those responsible need to be held accountable for their actions because they desecrated burial sites by their reprehensible behavior and caused unnecessary additional trauma to the survivors of their loved ones laid to rest in the cemetery.

On Sunday, March 20, 2016, at approximately 11:00 PM, an unidentified male suspect burglarized the St. Vincent de Paul Store, 2225 Eastern Ave, Plymouth.  The suspect appears to be of average height and weight and was wearing a Green Bay Packers team jacket with a hood or a hooded sweatshirt underneath the jacket.

On Friday, March 18, 2016, at around 3:00 AM, several subjects broke into the Q-Mart at 1508 S. 8th Street in Sheboygan.  Once inside they targeted cabinets containing cigarettes and stole numerous cases of Newport cigarettes.  The subjects are believed to have had a vehicle parked nearby.  All the subjects were wearing dark colored clothing with hoods up along with masks and gloves.

On Sunday, February 28, 2016, the Sheboygan County Sheriff`s Department investigated a burglary and theft of truck parts from a garage in the N4600 block of Steven St., Town of Sheboygan Falls.  A set of aftermarket clear lens and chrome tail lamp and headlamp assemblies were removed and stolen from a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado truck parked inside the garage.  Also, a brand new set of Spectrum brand chrome wheels still in the boxes were stolen from inside the garage.

Type of Crime: Armed Robbery

On Sunday, February 14, 2016, at approximately 8:30 PM the Sheboygan Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Citgo Gas Station at 610 S 14th Street in Sheboygan.  According to the investigation, a white male suspect, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build, wearing dark shoes, gloves, jeans and a dark jacket over another hooded top entered the store and displayed a handgun to the clerk before demanding cash and other items.  The suspect concealed the button portion of his face with a cold weather style face mask.  The suspect then left the area in an SUV style vehicle with shiny rims.  Citizens are encouraged to view surveillance video of the incident by clicking on the links below.
